Comité de Ética para la Investigación Clínica (CEIC) – Ethical committee for clinical research, is a consulting organ which guarantees and safeguard the rights of the patients who participate in Centro de Investigación Clínica CIC studies, as well as in other city and country centers.
CEIC evaluates the research, contributes to protect the dignity, the rights, the safety, and the wellbeing of all the current and potential participants of the clinical research. In addition, it guarantees the pertinence, the justification, the design, and the methodology of each proposed study, and pays special attention to those studies that can involve vulnerable people.

Who is part of the committee?
Comité de Ética para la Investigación Clínica (CEIC) – Ethical committee for clinical research is integrated by seven members, multidisciplinary, multisectoral, with both sexes’ representation and from different ages, who must respect the confidentiality principle with the received documentation for the studies evaluation and the participants’ identity in the research.
At least one of the members has as primary interest area a no-scientific one (the person represents the community), and at least one of them must be independent from the institution.
